Seasons Around The Table: Effortless Entertaining with Floral Tablescapes & Seasonal Recipes
Jessie-Sierra Ross
Schiffer Publishing
Imagine fairytale weddings, instagram worthy floral displays and food to make you want to cook - all the simplistic pleasures in life, which we may sacrifice due to professed need - i.e. other things get in the way and suddenly we lack ourselves joy, be being allowed to be happy. Personally I see this book as a visual and textural life lesson. It made me stop and remember that actually life is to be a pleasure, a smile-worthy time building memories and reminders - reasons to be and stay alive. Goodness I am drawing a lot from an airy fairy flower fantasy book, but it is just beautiful - to me anyway.
What is this book good for? Who is it aimed at? Why is it worthy to own?
I will answer the above in brief.
The book is good for anyone who has come to terms with (what I feel has a rise since the lockdown time period) dining at home and yes making a feature of it. No longer are we get out, party out people. We are the generations, (any age here) who value and appreciate nesting, decorating, loving what is around us not what we always have to go out and see. Ross works with this premise and sets us up for all the highs in our lives, the traditions and celebrations. Mothers day, festive time periods…there are seperate spaces within this book for all the big events in our yearly calendar. So really, it is good for anyone who wants to make staying at home count.
It has a ageless feel, so it will appeal to a granny who wants her family near, as well as a teen who wants to impress her friends.
Why is it something we need to own?
Yes, given the internet we can use a search engine for ideas, but is it not beautiful to own a bible of visions, which we can pick up and flick though given any fancy?
Oh and lastly….a strawberry filled summer with champagne cream recipie to dash it all off? YES PLEASE!
Full of photogenic wonders, food to fancy and advice in the fountain load - I know I will be keeping my copy for this ongoing year. Will you?
